He is survived by : his wife Essie Mae Mitchell of Monticello; and his children, Mildred Standifer (Eddie), Annie Standifer (late Earnest Mitchell), Betty Jackson (Thomas), Rosa Slaughter (Bobby), Jeanette Dupree (Jimmie), Lisa Mitchell, Oscar Mitchell (late Marilyn), Leon Mitchell (Brenda) and Frank Mitchell.
