He was predeceased by: his parents, Landon Pickelsimer and Rose Bell Bowers Pickelsimer; his brothers, Dewy Joseph Pickelsimer and G. W. Pickelsimer; his niece Jackie Pickelsimer; and his nephews, Jimmy Pickelsimer and Landon Pickelsimer.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Pickelsimer; his children, James Landon Pickelsimer, Jr. (Kevin York) of Jefferson, GA, Angela Pickelsimer Cohran (David) of Athens, GA, Shannon Dillard Miller of Blairsville, GA and Brandie Fergison Sutton (John) of Morganton, GA; and his grandchildren, James Scott Caylor, John Wendell Caylor, Angela Jean Stroup, Montaina Brook Asbury, John Quince Walker, Shawn Walker, Matthew Taylor Sutton and Evan James Asbury.
