He was predeceased by : his parents, Burrell Jacob Dykes and Charlie Lee Bridges; and his siblings, Marcus Edward Dykes, Walter Jacob Dykes, Charles Willis "Tug" Dykes, Kathleen Dykes, Willene Harrison and Ervin Dykes.

He is survived by : his brother Leland Dykes (Julia Harrison); and also Lynda Powell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
