She was predeceased by: her parents, John Calvin Hersey and Mollie Elizabeth Rowell Hersey; her great grandchild James Asher Ellis; and her siblings, Howard, Artie Hersey, Dicie Hersey, Ozelle Hutcheson and Hazel Hutcheson.
She is survived by: her husband Vernie "Bud" Ellis; her children, Mitchell Ellis, Johnny Ellis, Timmy Ellis and Toni Ellis Bennett (Tony) of Nicholls; and her grandchildren, Darren Ellis (Nikki), Erica Williams (Kyle), Donny Burch (Courtney) and Christy Williams (Jeremy). She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
