He was predeceased by: his parents, Edford Courson and Evelyn Youngblood; and his brother Eddie Courson. He is survived by: his son Ashley Courson of Wray; his stepmother Nell Courson of Bickley; his siblings, Calisse Owens (Jim) of Kingston, TN, Karen Johnson of Nicholls, GA, Sherry Adams (Sid) of Douglas and David Anthony (Kaneah) of Bickley, GA; and his granddaughter Ava Courson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Sims Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
