He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Quincy Taft Sr. and Barbara J. White Taft; his children, Jonathan Harper (Marcie) of Fitzgerald, GA, James Harper of Jacksonville, FL, Julia Taft (Victor Sanchez) of Douglas, GA and Wendy Taft of Douglas, GA; his siblings, Gordon Taft (Mona) of Westgreen, GA and Gloria Herbert (Cheryl Boyd) of Douglas, GA; and his grandchildren, Clarissa Sanchez, Alyssa Avery, Nichole Taft Avery, Hector Garcia, Serenity Harper, Lillian Harper, Jonathan L. Harper, Giovani Garcia, Logan Garcia, Angel Garcia, Anali Garcia and Keiran Garcia. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sims Funeral Home (201 N Peterson Ave, Douglas, GA 31533). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Saving Grace Ministries (1149 Dewberry Rd, Douglas, GA 31535).
