He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Ritz Northrop and Edgar Northrop; his wife Joyce Ann Northrop; his grandson Michael Dempsey; and his brother Wayne Northrop.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Dempsey (Darrell McKnight), Felicia Sharkey (Steve), Nicole Caldwell (William), Amy Reid (Todd Beal), Wayne Higgins (Renita) and Richard Higgins (Cathy); and his siblings, Lorna Massuci (Don) and Pat Northrop (Charlene). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
