He is survived by : his wife Peggy Shaver; his children, Donna Shaver Bush (Chris) and James "Jim" Shaver (Vickie); his brothers, David "Buddy" Shaver (Ina) and Harris McGarrah (Carol); and his grandchildren, Kevin Kunkler (Jenny), Rebecca Bush, Donald Shaver, Erin Cummings (Adam) and Brittany Benton (Travis). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Parrott Funeral Home & Crematory (8355 Senoia Rd, Fairburn, GA 30213). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home (8355 Senoia Rd, Fairburn, GA 30213).
