We are sad to announce that on October 28, 2025, at the age of 94, Jean Carolyn Young Peterson (Pearson, Georgia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jack Young and Ollis Hinson Young; her husband Henry Alton Peterson; and her sons, Jack Lee Peterson and Vance Alton Peterson.
She is survived by: her children, Ray Lee Peterson (Sharon Franks Peterson) of Pearson and Sharon Jeannine Peterson Moss (Randall Wyatt Moss) of Brunswick; her daughter-in-law Latrelle Morgan Peterson Gore (Tom Gore) of Darien; her brother James Edward Young (Linda Garrett Young) of Madison; and her grandchildren, Rachel Lee Peterson Moss (Michael Moss), Chrystal Danielle Moss Collett (Jon Collett) and Kelsey Ladauna Peterson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Kirkland Church. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in memory of Mrs. Peterson to Hospice Satilla in Waycross, Ga., or a charity of your choice.
