He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mason Fountain, Sr. and Hattie Fountain; his son James Randall "Randy" Fountain; his daughters-in-law, Joyce Fountain and Robin Fountain; and his sister Jessie Howard.
He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Ray Fountain; his children, David Fountain (Gail) of Pembroke, Brian Fountain of Pembroke, Lynn Ryan (Chris) of Pembroke and Angie Fountain (Mickey Bonilla) of Pembroke; and his grandchildren, Keith Conley, Kristy Joyner, Keli Fountain, Kevin Fountain, Kimberly Fountain, Krystal Butler, Kandice Butler, Kasey Fountain, Kricket Fountain, Khristopher Fountain and Karen Lowery. He is also survived by 20 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
