She was predeceased by: her parents, Bry Theodore Avera and Fannie Pearl Johnson Avera; her son Lamar Brown; and her siblings, Pearlie Mae Summers, Thedo Avera, Francis Robinson and Ann Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Jerry Brown (Barbara) of Americus, Ronald Brown (Diane) of Preston, Floyd Brown, Donald Brown (Ann) of Preston, Glenda Kilpatrick of Leesburg, Diane Abercrombie (Glenn) of Preston and Fay Perryman (Andy) of Richland; and her sisters, Josephine Adkins (James) of Cleveland, SC and Barbara Bowen (Bill) of Americus. She is also survived by Fifteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews and a daughter-in-law.
