We are sad to announce that on June 22, 2021, at the age of 72, Robert Cates Jr. of Rincon, Georgia, born in Millen, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert "Julian" Cates, Sr. and Jewel Waters Cates; and his siblings, Barbara Ann Cates and Danny Charles Cates, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Laverne Cates (Georgia); his children, Amy Hickox (Michael), Alicia Elliott (Russell), Bonny Gnann (David), Lisa Phillips (Tim) and William L. Exley; his sister Delaine Becton (Steve); his grandchildren, Dylan Boyett (Amber), Amelia Elliott, Lilly Hickox, Fallon Hirsch (David), Tiffany Gnann, Califf Gnann (Meghan), Daniel Exley, Chloe Phillips and Gracelyn Phillips; his great grandchildren, Otto, Emmett, Levi, Callie, Ivory and Ella; and his brother-in-law Alfred Ellisor Jr. (Sue). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
