She was predeceased by : her parents, Thomas Carter and Marguerite Carter; and her siblings, Jimmy Carter, David Carter, Debbie Peters and Penny Bowman.

She is survived by : her children, Michael Cagle (Danielle) and Takeysha Barbee (Lamar); and her brother Alan Carter (Janice). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

“Teresa and I shared a building for a few years. Then we had to move so it could be repaired. I did not move back as she did when it was finally repaired so I missed her presence in my life. She was a kind and thoughtful neighbor and dear friend. With love, Mary Lloyd”
