He was predeceased by: his parents, Judson Boyd and Pauline Boyd Shipp; his siblings, Edna Hegwood (John Hegwood) and James H. Boyd Sr.; his stepbrother J. L. Stanfield (Ola Stanfield); and his siblings-in-law, Nell and Ed Blalock.
He is survived by: his daughter Melinda; his wife Jane Cavin Boyd; his son Bryan; his children-in-law, Julie Boyd of Tunnel Hill and Greg Griffin of Tunnel Hill; his grandchildren, Kayla Griffin of Tunnel Hill, Madison (Michael Elliott) of Tunnel Hill, Darby (Hunter Amos) of Tunnel Hill, Taylor (Aaron Tapia) of Tunnel Hill and Tanner Boyd (Katelyn O'Ferrall) of Tunnel Hill; his great grandchildren, Madyson, Conner Elliott of Dalton, Brantley, Rylee Amos of Tunnel Hill, Aubrey and Adilyn Tapia of Tunnel Hill; and his siblings-in-law, Jackie, Benny Castleberry of Lafayette and Shirley Boyd of Dawnville. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
