She was predeceased by: her husband David Akins; her parents, Ralph Berrong and Elizabeth Berrong; and her siblings, Eugene Berrong and Evelyn Gordon.
She is survived by: her son Matt Akins; her daughter-in-law Becky Akins of Rocky Face; her sister Ruth McCamy of Chatsworth; her sister-in-law Betty Berrong of Dalton; her grandchildren, Nick and Katie Carter; and her great grandchildren, Laila and Jibril Wahid. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
