He was predeceased by: his parents, William Bill and Ethel "Boyd" Blackwell; his son-in-law Darryl Chastain; and his siblings, William Buck Blackwell, JC Blackwell, Edward Blackwell, Sammy Blackwell, Suzie Cooper and Mary Lankford.
He is survived by: his wife Gwendolyn "Amos" Blackwell; his children, Landon Lamar (Christina Blackwell), Nathaniel Blackwell and Angie Chastain; his siblings, Doyle Blackwell, Mildred Parker, Lela Stanley and Doris Brown; and his granddaughters, Yolanda Burns (Noah), Amanda Stepp (Blake), Grace Chastain, Lois Buff (Aaron) and Hannah Clem (Andrew). He is also survived by great grandchildren.
