He was predeceased by: his wife Lizabeth Nichols; his parents, David Nichols, Sr. and Addie Lee Burke; and his siblings, Roswell Nichols and Blanche Freeman.
He is survived by: his children, David Nichols of Dalton, Betty Ledford of Dalton and Mary Tallent of Dalton; his sibling David Jr. of Dalton; his grandsons, Austin Ledford, Logan Ledford and Corbin Ledford; and also Carolyn Nichols of Dalton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
