It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wynette Chitwood Gazaway of Rocky Face, Georgia, who passed away on July 19, 2025, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Warren Chitwood and Dora Keene Chitwood; her husband Jack E. Gazaway; and her siblings, Jessie Thomason, Flora Stone, Bertha Defoor, Malvia Poole, Iduma Mortensen, Aveline Franks, Wilburn Chitwood, Watson Chitwood and Colbert Chitwood.
She is survived by: her children, Terry Gazaway, Reggie Gazaway and Tria Ledford (Arnold) of Rocky Face, Georgia.; her sister Jean Hefner of Rocky Face, Georgia.; her grandchildren, Logan Gazaway of Fort Oglethorpe and Lindsey Kenemer (Zach) of Apison, Tennessee; her great grandchildren, Nora and Shelby Kenemer; her stepgrandchildren, Shane Ledford (Holly) and Kristy Ledford; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Landen Ledford and Jackson Williams.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Love Funeral Home (1402 N Thornton Ave, Dalton, GA 30720). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Center Point Baptist Church (420 Center Point Dr SE, Dalton, GA 30721).
Per Wynette's wishes that she expressed during her lifetime, her family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to Center Point Baptist Church.
