He was predeceased by: his parents, G. L. Bailey and Mary Willis Bailey; his wife Christine "Chris" Elrod Bailey; and his siblings, Dot Lovell and Herbert Bailey.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Grace Bailey and Jimmy Bailey (Sandra); his grandchildren, Scott Bailey of Duluth, GA, James Williams (Shannon), Chad Williams (Jessica) and Dawn Godfrey (Ray); his sister Mary Ruth Pitts of Moultrie, GA; and his close friend Chris Brooks. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
