He was predeceased by: his mothers, Lina Koon and Thelma Koon; his sister Katherine Koon Wilson; and his wife Ruth Walden Koon. He is survived by: his sister Julia Koon Ray of Houston, Texas; his children, Gary Garrett (Nancy), David Garrett (Kathy) and Melissa Koon Roberts (Paul); his grandchildren, Meg Carruth (Derek), Gary Garrett (Tonya), Heather Koon, Kristy Roberts (Faye), Stephen Roberts, Jonathan Roberts (Hayley), Jason Roberts and Kevin Roberts; and his great grandchildren, Kate, Sophie Garrett, Vayda, May Roberts and Ivy Murphy-Roberts.
