She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred W. Cooley and Lela Griffin Cooley; her husband Leroy Slater; and her siblings, Pluma Cooley, J. D. Cooley, Paul W. Cooley, Fred "Babe" Cooley and Glen Monroe "Bo" Cooley.
She is survived by: her children, Jennifer (Todd Wood), Michele (Jason Beall) and Greg; her daughter-in-law Jeannie Slater of Rome; and her grandchildren, Bryce Beall, Anna Grace Wood, Kaitlyn Wood and Brylee Beall. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Jean's honor to Hyman HospiceCare at Floyd 420 East Second Avenue, # 105, Rome, GA, 30161.
