We are sad to announce that on June 6, 2025, at the age of 74, Sheryl Jones Overby of Rossville, Georgia, born in Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Sheryl Jones departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Sheryl Jones may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Sheryl Jones leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Jones and Dixie Jones; her husband Andrew Jackson Overby Jr.; and her siblings, Alfred "Boy" Jones and Peggy Ingle Boles.
She is survived by: her sons, Jacky Overby (Patti Pluff) and Jerry Overby; her sister Carolyn "Sis" Rogers (Elsie); and her grandchildren, Amber Lynch (Brandon), Drew Overby (Leeann) and Brittany Riddle (Josh). She is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lane Funeral Home - South Crest Chapel (833 Chickamauga Ave, Rossville, GA 30741). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
