He is survived by: his children, Hunter Thurman (Julie) and Kylie Thurman; his granddaughter Naomi Joy Thurman; his mother Gail Jenkins (Greg Newman); his close friend Erica Blevins; and his sister Terra Sparks (Tim). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

“In loving memory of Steve Allen Thurman Jr., a love and friendship. Stevie and I had a great relationship when we were younger. I started working as a hostess my senior year (1995) at his families' restaurant Jenkins' Country Style buffet on Ringgold Rd in East Ridge Tennesse where I went to high school. We soon ended up living and working together. Unfortunately, after about 2 years we went our separate ways but we had one heck of a good time up until then! Finding fun in any and everything!”
