He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcel De and Marcella Van De (Gudenau); and his brother A. Richard Van De Velde. He is survived by: his children, Lori Nolan (Tim) of Roswell, GA, Scott Van De (Joanne) and Sheri Barletta (Jim) of Woodstock, GA.; his grandchildren, Emilie Clary (Jonathan), Nicholas Nolan (Elizabeth), Chadd Nolan, Andrew Nolan, Chelsea Price (Nicholas), Sydney Van De Velde, Cameron Van De Velde, Michael Barletta, Matthew Barletta (Samantha) and Nicole Barletta; his great grandchildren, Theo, Beckett Nolan, Jackson, Andrew Price, Charlee and Clary; his siblings, Patricia Tignanelli (Patrick) and James Van De (Lila); and his wife Helen "Faye" Brown. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
