She was predeceased by : her parents, Evelyn McGrath of Rochester and Thomas McGrath; her brother Paul McGrath; and her sister-in-law Barbara McGrath. She is survived by : her siblings, Ted and Sue; her husband William Dempsey; her siblings, Thomas McGrath Jr. and Susan Horner (Don); her children, William Dempsey Jr., Michael Dempsey (Beth), Kathleen Vesling (Rod), Karen MacDavid (Jake) and Colleen Ristau (Chuck); and her grandchildren, Tim, Peter (Evan), Lindsay (Paul), Stephanie (Luke), Alex, Tom, Jake, Mary Dee, Rachel, Evelyn, Ellie, Andrew D, Samantha, Andrew M, Lauren, Matthew and Cate.

“Mary ann was such a gift to us all, there are barely words to speak over the immense heartache of loosing her.. Nor, enough tissues in the world to catch all the tears that fall since she left us. I’m afraid the flood will last a lifetime. And i’m not even family, i’m just a girl who was so grateful that she touched my life. So grateful for her! Somehow, she had the magical ability to pour love into my wounded heart, simply by holding my hands & looking in my eyes. Our angel on earth now lives in Heaven.”
