She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie Ellis Hogue and Gertie Gafford Hogue; her husband Herschel Odell Prater; her son Jesse Herschel "Sonny" Prater; and her siblings, Ione Hogue Osborne and Jesse Ellis Hogue.
She is survived by: her children, Lisa Prater Jones (John) of Sandersville, Joyce Prater Sullivan of Kissimmee Florida and Michael Dwight Prater of Davisboro; her sister-in-law Janice Hogue of Pleasant View; and her sibling's children, Keith Hogue, Kaye Keller, Ann Jones, Wanda Clifton, Linda Cathey and Reyna Jackson. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren.
