She was predeceased by: her parents, George Averett Holmes, Sr. and DeVera Stanley Holmes; and her sister Margaret Holmes Smith. She is survived by: her son Mike (Shanna); her grandchildren, Aiden, Slade of Belleville, Ill, Kimberly Cowan Brower (Austin) of Odenville, Alabama and Alex Cowan of Montgomery, Alabama; her great grandchildren, Cody and Alaynna Kilgore of Odenville, Alabama; her siblings, George Holmes, Jr. (Charmaine) of Miami Florida, Betty Holmes Jones (Melton) of Tennille and Barbara Holmes Mooney of Atlanta; and her brother-in-law Dennis Smith of Athens.
