She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Lane and Emory Lane; her son John Thomas Giddens; her brother Jones Lane; her sister-in-law Sue Lane; and her niece Gloria Lane.
She is survived by: her children, James Wilson Giddens Jr. (Linda) of Savannah, Emory Lane Giddens (Sheryl) of Valdosta and Martha Alice Giddens Nesbit (Gary) of Savannah; her grandchildren, Jim, Kyle, Chris, April, John, Sally, Taylor, Jamie, Thomas, Zack and Emory; her sister Dr. Betty Lane of Statesboro; her nephews, Billy and Bob Lane of Statesboro; and her niece Mary Ann Lane Robertson of Fripp Island, S. C. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren.
