She was predeceased by: her parents, Allie Mae Gamble and Milton Tucker Spaulding; her former husband Robert Joseph Smith, Sr.; her siblings, Leonard B. Spaulding, Thomas Milton Spaulding, Raymond Dexter Spaulding, Roy Eugene "Pete" Spaulding and Alice Nadine Slaughter; and her son-in-law Charles Bennett.
She is survived by: her husband Sylvania; her children, Mary Elizabeth S. Bennett of Statesboro, Robert Joseph, Jr. Smith (Judy) of Pineora, Henry Rudolph Smith (Pam) of Brooklet, William Andrew Smith (Melissa) of Bloomingdale and Milton Edward Smith (Shirley) of Springfield; and her brother William A. Spaulding of Fort Worth, TX. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
