We are sad to announce that on September 21, 2020 we had to say goodbye to Eary Strickland of Savannah, Georgia. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Benjamin and Henrietta Benjamin; her husband Rufus Strickland; her daughter Barbara Jean Jackson of Herndon, VA.; and her siblings, John Benjamin, Jr., Lou Sara Alston and B. J. Clifton.
She is survived by: her children, Uvedia Shavon, Shavon LeCounte (Rodney), Georgia and Linda Teresa Jackson; her son-in-law Donald R. Jackson; her grandchildren, Shonte' Spears (Robert) of Blacklick, OH, Ebony Jackson, Upper Marlboro, MD, Reginald Jackson, Marcus Jamon Jackson and Terry LeCounte; her great grandchildren, Simeon Ivey of Blacklick, OH, Marcus Jackson II, Jylnn LeCounte and Asa LeCounte; and also Trina Horne. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, dear friends.
There will be a final viewing from 11 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home before graveside services. *As a recommendation by the CDC due to COVID-19, we are requiring that a mask be worn if you plan to attend the viewing or graveside service.* Thank you for your cooperation on this matter.
Eary's church foundation began at Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, Statesboro, Georgia.
