He was predeceased by: his sister Katherine Burdsal; and his son David. He is survived by: his wife Grace Cleland McAleer; his children, Derek (Charlene), Michelle (Ralph Champion) and Jim; and his brother Charles (Fran). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives.
