He is survived by: his wife Helen Wildes Yates; his children, Brandy Yates Brauer (Paul), James Lamar Yates (Robert Bullard) and Miriam Maria Hayes (Andrew); his grandchildren, Olivia, Max, Adeline, Isabelle and Verity; and his siblings, Phyllis Kent (Sam), Bill Yates (Mindy) and Kristy Keefer (PG). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
