He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Anckner and Mary Anckner; and his granddaughter Brittany McAuley. He is survived by: his wife Vicki Ceryanec Anckner; his siblings, Gladys Lyons, Francis Acer and Bill Anckner; his children, Joseph Anckner III (Joy), Debra Anckner McAuley, Donna Feild (John), Thomas Anckner and Michael Anckner (Caitlin); and his pet Daisy. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Salvation Army, where Joe served on the Board of Directors for many years, or the Humane Society of Savannah.
