He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William R. Giles, Sr. and Eula Thompson Giles of Charles City, VA.; his brother Thomas W. Giles; his grandparents, Joe, Nannie B. Giles, Sam Thompson and Della A. Gibbs Thompson; his wife Marlene Johnson Giles of Savannah, GA.; his children, Sherrita Bell, Joseph O. Giles, Jr. of Hopewell, VA. and Cornelius D. Jones of Hopewell, VA.; his siblings, Annie Moore of Petersburg, VA., Williams Russell Giles, Jr. of Hopewell, VA and Samuel O. Giles of Hinesville, GA.; his aunts, Lucy Brown of Hopewell, VA. and Virginia Jones of Hopewell, VA.; his sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Lee (Charles) and Felicia F. Horne of Savannah, GA.; and his pet Jackson. He was also cherished by six grandchildren, one great grand daughter, a host of nieces, nephews other relatives, friends and his pet.
