He was predeceased by: his parents, James and Geneva; his sister Martha; and his aunt Evon. He is survived by: his former wife Marilyn T. Shepard; his son Michael Shepard (Ashley); his grandchildren, Selena Y. Shepard-Gaylor, Angel M. Fluitt and Shawn S. Shepard; his wife Mindy; his children, Selena (James), Angel (Brian) and Shawn; his stepdaughters, Ariel and Lauren; his siblings, James, Samuel, Patricia and Margaret Gail; and his grandchildren, Xzavian, Nasir, Brian Jr., Jalisia and Kaylin. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
