He was predeceased by: his wife Brenda Bargeron Hudson; his parents, John Richard Hudson and Adelaide Schofield Hudson; and his siblings, John Richard Hudson II and Mary Hudson Worley.

He is survived by: his sons, Gregory Schofield Hudson and Bradford Pope Hudson (Danielle Hudson); and his granddaughter Sarah Marie Hudson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
