With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Luther Shelnutt (Smyrna, Georgia), born in LaGrange, Georgia, who passed away on January 27, 2019 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Bernard Shelnutt and Ellen Shelnutt; his siblings, Mildred, Dorothy, Bernard and Thomas; his wife Ellen Richardson Shelnutt; his children, Elizabeth Metzger and Thomas Shelnutt; his grandchildren, John Metzger, Emmaline and Hunter Shelnutt; his sisters-in-law, Erlene Shelnutt and Sue Browning (Lynn Browning); and his siblings' children, Sandra Bobbitt (Brad Bobbitt) and Mark Shelnutt (Linda).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Atlanta Humane Society.
