He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. W. Steve Worthy and Imogene Worthy; and his sister Emily Nisbet. He is survived by: his wife Mary Worthy; his daughters, Molly Groebner (Shawn) of Smyrna and Gretchen Owens (Mark) of Smyrna; his siblings, Peter Worthy (Joan) of Carrollton and Ellen Stokes (Gerald) of Fredericksburg, VA; and his grandchildren, William Cal Groebner, Ruby Carrol Groebner and Caroline Bell Owens. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
