He is survived by : his wife Brenda Horton; his children, Ginnie Lee Horton Sherrod (Nic) of Brooklet and Cody Nicholas Horton (Shannon) of Brooklet; his grandchildren, Madison Sherrod of Brooklet, Morgan Sherrod of Brooklet, Brody Sherrod of Brooklet and Vera Horton of Brooklet; and his sisters, Joyce Horton Taylor (Chuck) of Lizella and Sue Horton Langford of McIntyre. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Fisher Funeral Home (122 W Dykes St, Cochran, GA 31014). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens (1080 GA-26, Cochran, GA 31014).
