He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Schlechtweg and Gertrude Schlechtweg; his sister Doris Schlechtweg; his son-in-law Thomas Hart Fleming; his parents-in-law, Reverend Theodore H. and Dorothy Bushmann; and his sister-in-law Carol Woods.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Schlechtweg; his children, Diane Fleming, Susan Bedell (Bob) and William John Schlechtweg II (Kelly); his grandchildren, Jenn Duncan (Donny), Rob Bedell (Ali), Theodore H. Bedell (Nicole), Thomas H. Fleming II (Darci), Kerry Fleming, Michael Bedell (Madison), McKenzie Schlechtweg, Delaney Schlechtweg and Will Schlechtweg; and his great grandchildren, Caleigh Nation, Ayden Hoang, Aubrey Fleming, Hart Fleming, Hudson Fleming, Theo Bedell and Hawkins Fleming.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Memorial Park South Funeral Home (4121 Falcon Pkwy, Flowery Branch, GA 30542). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Memorial Park South Chapel (4121 Falcon Pkwy, Flowery Branch, GA 30542). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at the Memorial Park South Cemetery (4121 Falcon Pkwy, Flowery Branch, GA 30542).
