She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Smith and Sue Cates Smith; and her husband Bill Sherrod. She is survived by: her children, William Sherrod (Leisha), Rhonda Johnson (Bobby Wayne), Debbie Wilson (Larry), Tammy Jeffers and Tim Sherrod; and her grandchildren, Jaime Purvis, Korey Sherrod, Jesse Ervin, Cassie Way, Kristie Brantley, Derrick Wilson, Tiphany Jeffers, Dustin Jeffers, Adam Sherrod and Catelyn McCarty.

Visitation was held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Tomlinson Funeral Home (718 S Main St, Swainsboro, GA 30401). A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
