He was predeceased by: his parents, Lynn Lantz and Ruby Lantz of Charleston; and his former wife Patricia Ann Poling Lantz of French Creek. He is survived by: his wife Kate Lantz; his children, Dr. James Lantz, Jr. (Lenore) of Douglasville, Alison Rich (Robin) of Statesboro and Scott Lantz (Dianne) of Pooler; his stepchildren, Mark Jones (Julie) of Sylvania and Mary Beth Godbee (Alan) of Sylvania; his brother Bob Lantz (Ginny) of Sugar Grove; his sister-in-law Nancy Lindblad of Blair; and his grandchildren, Lauren Lantz, Lindsey Eckles (Clifford), Josh Rich (Katie), Hannah Zeigler (Jacob), Ashley West (True), Ashley Anderson (Adam), David Jones (Brittany) and Jakob Godbee. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family requests that remembrances be made to the Gideons or Samaritans Purse in lieu of flowers.
