He was predeceased by: his parents, James Timothy Benford and Janie Cromer Benford. He is survived by: his wife Marcia Baker Benford; his children, Herbert, Jr. (Shirley), Lynne Haggerty (Ed), Landra Doughty (Steve), Diane Benford and Donna Herron; and his stepchildren, Chris Baker (Kathy) and Lisa James (Carey).
