He was predeceased by : his parents, Buford Burnett Tidwell and Jennie B. McElroy Tidwell; and his brothers, Timmy Edward Tidwell, Horace Wayne Tidwell and Thomas Ray Tidwell.

He is survived by : his wife Susan Dunaway Tidwell; his children, Stacy Shirey (William) of Temple, Candi Wilson (Aaron) of Saranda, Jessica Tidwell (BJ) of Tallapoosa and Eric Tidwell (Spring) of Temple; his brothers, Allen Tidwell (Joan) of Villa Rica, Billy Tidwell of Villa Rica, James Tidwell (Irene) of Temple, Joe Tidwell (Debbie) of Newnan, Steve Tidwell (Peggy) of Temple and David (Darlene) of Villa Rica; his grandchildren, Alice Shirey, Victoria Tidwell, Alex Tidwell, Adrian Tidwell, Abagail Wilson, Addison Wilson, Karyce Wilson, Cherish Wilson, Besim Wilson, Lydia Wilson, Esther Wilson, Tyler Tidwell and Crystal Tidwell; and his great grandchildren, Everett Springer, Beau Springer and Elias Perry. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Jones-Wynn - Villa Rica Chapel (306 Westview Dr, Villa Rica, GA 30180). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
