He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Calvin Smith and Mildred Robertson Smith; and his brother Joseph Michael Smith. He is survived by: his wife Louise McKinley Smith of Thomaston; his children, Kelli Pitts (Jamie) of Meansville and Chris Partain (Denise) of Bremen; his sister Lisa Newell of Thomaston; his grandchildren, Dylan Partain, Jonathan Partain, Kenley Pitts and Karsen Pitts; and his nieces, Kristi Ellis and Donna Vining. He is also survived by 4 great nieces.
