He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Samuel Taylor and Elia Katherine Tittle Taylor; his sister Mary Nell; and his wife Mary Jo Philpott Taylor. He is survived by: his stepfather H. E. Nolen; his daughters, Emily Taylor Pitts and Carolyn Taylor; his grandchildren, Matthew Pitts (Cathy), Mia McWilliams (Shane) and Marci Pitts Bull; his great grandchildren, Dakota Pitts, Matthew Pitts Jr., Mark Pitts, Mia Pitts, Taylor McWilliams, Sam McWilliams, Victoria Bull and Megan Bull; and his great great grandchild Nevaeh Grace McWilliams.
