He was predeceased by: his wife Jane Cook McAbee of Valdosta; his parents, Walter Clinton McAbee and Nora Hays McAbee; and his siblings, Daniel Holms McAbee and Bonner McAbee Parris of Griffin.
He is survived by: his children, Lacy Barnes (Dick) of Thomaston, Criss McAbee (Kristi) of Thomaston and Walt McAbee (Nancy) of Concord; his grandchildren, Chase Barnes (Fiance' Becky), Jane-Asher English (Heath) of Thomaston, Rhett McAbee (Cristy) of McDonough, Abby McClure (Nathan) of Augusta, John McAbee of Tuscaloosa, AL and Patrick McAbee of Tuscaloosa, AL; and his great grandchildren, Mckenzie English, Campbell English, Addison English, Brooks English, Calleigh McClure, Austin McClure, Caroline McClure and Reagan McAbee.
