She was predeceased by: her parents, L. A. Hamby and Ione Maddox Hamby; her son Stan Lane Busby; her siblings, Virgil Hamby and Helen Brooks Peed; and her granddaughter Amy Lynn Busby.

She is survived by: her daughter Kathy Cochran of McDonough; and her grandchildren, DeAnn, Scott, Brian, Bobby and Kristy. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
