It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Smith Jr. (Thomaston, Georgia), who passed away on March 22, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter E. Smith Sr. and Dora M. Ledbetter Smith; and his wife Ethel Daniel Smith. He is survived by: his children, Deborah Legg (Chris), Angel Davis (Joseph), Brenda McCoy (Brian), Terri Salter, Greg Smith (Mary Jo), Clay Smith (Brenda) and Benjamin Pitts; and his siblings, Martha Ellis, Betty Hanley, A. C. Smith (Bernice) and Billy Joe Smith (Mary). He is also survived by 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
