He was predeceased by: his parents, William T. Hammond and Lillie Mae Ellerbee Hammond; his daughter Leigh Ann Minyard; and his siblings, Frank "Bud" Hammond and Evelyn "Pete" Matthews.
He is survived by: his wife Romie Lou Dowdy Hammond; his son Scotty Hammond (Donna); his grandchildren, Brian Hammond (Kelly) and Carrie Tidwell; and his great grandchildren, Corey Calvert, Carlie Daniel (Isaac) and Walker Hammond.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Valley Grove Baptist Church at 1572 Atwater Rd. Thomaston, GA 30286.
